Depression Seminar

Poster Design

Project Scope

My Depression Seminar poster was inspired by my experimentation in the college’s darkroom, where I placed a magazine article onto exposure paper and exposed it to light. This hands-on process allowed me to explore how imagery can be manipulated and reinterpreted through traditional photographic techniques.

While the original outcome was entirely black and white, I chose to incorporate a pop of color for this project. The addition of yellow not only creates a striking visual contrast against the monochrome background, but also carries symbolic meaning. Yellow is often associated with suicide prevention—an important connection, as depression is one of the leading contributors to suicide.

By combining experimental process with intentional color use, this poster aims to capture attention while also encouraging awareness and reflection on the topic.
